In this game played out in perfect conditions Glantraeth had chances a plenty scored three, hit the crossbar, had a couple of one on ones with the keeper, but most of all picked up three vital points in their quest for the Cymru Alliance Title. Stand in Captain for the day Mark Thomas thought he had given Glantraeth the perfect start after six minutes getting the ball into the net when Rob Williams shot was only parried away by the visiting keeper Dan Pritchard, only to look up to see the linesman's flag raised presumably for offside. At the other end former Bangor City favourite Gavin Allen broke through but pulled his shot wide when in a one on one situation with Steve Thomas Glantraeth custodian. Craig Roberts then shot wildly over at an acute angle on 12 minutes. Then Rob Williams connected well with a header from a Kevin Roberts cross. Glantraeth took the lead on 35 minutes when substitute Richard Hughes who had only come on a few minutes earlier after Lee Dixon had to come off headed in at the far post. The move came from a corner taken by Kevin Roberts which was headed on by Mark Thomas and Richard Hughes was on the spot to head in. A Mark Thomas header then from a Rob Williams was close, and a Rob Williams tremendous shot came back off the keeper to Craig Roberts who hit it first time and it came off a defender for a corner. Although it was only 1-0 at half time Glantraeth had had the bulk of the first half play with only one goal to show for it. The second half was only seconds old when Nigel Barry and Mark Thomas combined to see Thomas's goal-bound header tipped over the bar, by the in form Pritchard. A fine pass by Kevin Roberts picked out Richard Hughes the keeper once again pulled off a good save from his shot and then from the resulting corner Craig Roberts went very close to increasing Glantraeth's lead. However a minute later the home side did go further ahead Richard Hughes again with the initial shot that the keeper parried, it fell kindly for Kevin Roberts who was on hand to head in from close range. Jon Foligno a former Caernarfon Town player then headed over from a free kick, and a further free kick saw Richard Thomas go close for Penrhyncoch. Glantraeth controlled the proceedings and from a Craig Roberts cross Richard Hughes tried a spectacular scissor kick. Then good interplay between Mark Thomas, Rob Williams and Richard Hughes saw Craig Roberts go oh so close again. A minute Craig Roberts summed up his luck when he he a very good strike the hit the crossbar and came out. Steve Thomas at the other end was called into action to save with his outstretched food from Jason Rees, and Richard Hughes shot wide at an awkward angle. Mark Thomas then played in Richard Hughes with a good lay off but he shot over the bar. Glantraeth were indebted to some good defending by Kevin Roberts getting back to clear off the line from a Llyr Hughes shot. Then Darren Jones had a header go close. Steve Thomas then tipped and effort from Joe Sherwood over before play went to the other end of the field Richard Hughes on the right looked up saw Kevin Roberts in acres of space, he saw the keeper off his line and almost on the six yard box. Kevin accurately curled his shot round the keeper and into the net to make win the game for the Bodorgan base side at 3-0 and 85 minutes on the clock.
