Glantraeth welcomed local rivals CPD Bodedern to their Bodorgan base for what was to be the first Anglesey derby fixture of the current campaign. Both teams struggled to find any goalscoring form in what was a lack lustre affair with a 0 - 0 scoreline.
Paul's latest signing very experienced goalkeeper Gareth Hughes came in for Richard Hall and put in a very good display. David Alan Jones replace the unavailable Osian Pritchard. Both sides goalkeepers hardly had a save to make throughout and supporters would agree this was not a spectacle. First to show was Alan Jones who pulled a good effort wide of the upright, then Kevin Roberts turned a delivered a good chance once again wide and high. The half in which Bodedern had a slight wind advantage produced nothing further until the 43rd minute when Barry Jones with Bodedern's first clear cut chance saw his chance sail over the bar. The Bodedern side had also been reduced to ten men having had a player dismissed by the official Mr Evans.
At the beginning of the second half ex Llangefni Town forward Gerallt Jones tried his luck before a nonchalant effort by Mark Owens sailed wide. Kevin Roberts hit a clean strike straight at keeper Gareth O.J. Roberts before Tomos Jones went on a run but fired wide of the post.Emyr Rowlands then had a shot well saved. Richard F. Owen hit over after a well worked free kick between Kevin Roberts and Paul Whelan deceived the visiting defence. Owen then with the best chance of the game in the final ten minutes saw visiting keeper OJ Roberts tip a fantastic shot over the bar to leave the final score 0 - 0.
Not a game that will go down as a cut and thrust derby, but Glantraeth keep their unbeaten run going.
