Glantraeth's Craig Roberts in a rich vein of scoring of late weighed in with a couple of valuable goals in this tough encounter with last seasons fourth place team in the Cymru Alliance Bala Town. Enjoying the majority of the play early on Roberts had a header flash past the post from a Kevin Roberts corner. Rob Williams back after suspension then hit a good chance wide before Emyr Rowlands tried his luck. Mark Thomas then went close before Robbie Chesters of Bala blazed a good chance over the crossbar. Darren Jones hit a fierce volley on 27Min's before Glantraeth's Mark Thomas had a goal disallowed. The Official initially pointed to the half way line indicating a goal, but after consulting his linesman ruled the goal out for what seemed to be infringement on the keeper. Mark Thomas, Emyr Rowlands missed good chances and Craig Roberts put a ball across the face of goal just before the half time interval. On 51Min's Kevin Roberts found himself in space, took a jog down the line and crossed perfectly for incoming namesake Craig Roberts to hit a scorcher past Evans Bala Town custodian. Almost immediately Chris Roberts flashed a chance past Glantraeth keeper Steve Thomas's post. Craig Roberts then broke through the defence and in a one on one shot straight at the Bala keeper. Rob Williams then picked out Kevin Roberts with a ball over the top, in a similar one on one he hit his shot tamely at the keeper. Glantraeth as in the first half were enjoying a good spell of possession but without actually scoring. On 75Min's Craig Roberts who is certainly in good form at the moment was tugged down in the area by Bala's Huw Price. Kevin Roberts strode up to take the resulting penalty but somehow managed to blaze the chance over the bar. However two minutes later Glantraeth pressing increased their lead. What was an innocent looking balled lobbed into the box by Rob Williams seemed to completely deceive the Bala keeper and defence as no one actually moved at all as the ball bounced into the net. In the final quarter of the game Bala tried all they could to get something out of the game and Chris Roberts was guilty of the miss of the game as his header towards a completely open goal went wide of the upright. Neil Fisher then forced a good save from the home keeper. Finally well into injury time Mark Owens went close before with what was virtually the last kick of the match Craig Roberts added to his tally drilling a good shot from just outside the area past the diving keeper to make it a comfortable 3-0 result for the home side.
