This was the fourth meeting between the clubs this season. The two teams having met in the Welsh Cup, Roger Jones Builders Merchants Alliance Challenge Cup, and at Glantraeth in the league, so to say the sides were getting used to each others play was an understatement. With both teams in contention for honours in the league a point was of little use for either side who really needed to come away with a victory to make up ground on current leaders Buckley Town. Glantraeth led twice in this very lively affair through Rob Williams after 35 minutes and Emyr Rowlands three minutes into the second period. But the Bodorgan based side were unable to hold onto the advantage as Guilsfield quickly hit back each time with Steve Towers who deflected in a Tim Nunnerley volley and Rob Cookeson with a spectacular 25 yard free kick. Both sides dominated in patches and in the final 15 minutes Glantraeth almost snatched it with Nigel Barry hitting a good effort past the post and keeper Steve Goodwin pulling off a fine save from Kevin Roberts.
