A hat-trick from Mark Thomas was the highlight of Glantraeth's win over a battling RAF side.
It didn't look much of a contest to start as Glan raced into a three goal lead within 11 minutes. Mark Thomas opened the scoring in the fifth minute with a perfectly struck volley from just outside the area and three minutes later it was two as Richard Owen showed great control from a Nigel Barry pass to easily beat the keeper.
Paul Rowlands scored his first goal for the club on 11 minutes, cleverly cutting in from the right before finishing with a well struck left foot shot. Kevin Roberts and Paul Rowlands both brought tremendous saves from the Valley keeper as the home side completely dominated the first forty-five minutes.
The RAF boys came out fired up after the break and within three minutes had pulled a goal back as Bangor City trialist Lee Hodgkinson reacted quickly after the ball came back off keeper Neil Hughes.
Normal service resumed on 55 minutes as Mark Thomas headed home a Nigel Barry free-kick to regain Glan's three goal lead. Play was not as one-sided this half but the visitors again conceded two minutes later as Richard Owen was brought down and Mark Thomas scored his third from the penalty spot.
RAF Valley's efforts were rewarded with another goal from Hodgkinson on 78 minutes and the scoring was rounded off two minutes from time as Paul Rowlands headed in from a Nigel Barry corner-kick.
